Nihongo Kaiwa Kyookai Society

Established In 1984

Our Aims and Objectives :

  • This organisation was formed with the main objective of offering the students a platform where they could continue their contact with the Japanese Language, by participating in various activities.
  • Also, to generate, foster, spread and strengthen friendship between India and Japan.


Our Landmark achievements :

  • Our Annual Function – First Staged in 1985. Since then we are celebrating IN-NICHI-BUNKASAI (India – Japan Cultural festival) with equal enthusiasm.
  • Cinema Nippon – A festival of Japanese films. This festival was launched in 1992. This festival is held every year – sometimes twice a year.
  • India-Japan Students’ conference – Started in 1997 and being held every year ever since. Every third year students from India visit Japan to participate in this conference.
  • Sakura (Cherry Blossom) – Our Bi – Monthly newsletter started in 1997 and regularly distributed to all members.
  • Nihongo Quiz – A Japanese Language quiz program where Japanese Language Students of different institutes participate each year. First held in 1998. This was initiated to generate fun and interest among the students of the language.
  • ·Our society got registered in 2007.


Our other regular activities :

  • Foundation Day Celebrations – Held annually on 15th August, the day our society was established.
  • Annual Picnic
  • Regular monthly programs in the form of lectures on Japanese Literature, Japanese Story reading sessions, Haiku Writing, and inviting Japanese nationals for a conversation session etc.
  • All the above activities are the result of voluntary participation and co-operation of all our members.
